HEAD COACH: Katie Borkovec
Katie grew up swimming at CHAMPS. As an age group swimmer, she attained Illinois Swimming Top 10 Records in all Freestyle events. She is an proud alumni of Fenwick High School where she was a 3 time state qualifier (freshman, sophomore & junior year). At age 16, Kattie attained Junior National qualifying times.
Katie went on to swim at University of Arkansas her first year of college, followed by three more years at Illinois State University. Katie was one of the team captains her senior year where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science. After graduation, Kate continued her education, earning a second Bachelor Degree in Nursing. She currently works as an ER nurse.
Kate has developed CHAMPS to it's highest level of success in the past 3 years as head coach. More than 70% of swimmers in the advance groups qualify for Regionals, State and/or National Championship Meets.
